Have you ever needed to save a YouTube video to your computer in order to use it in your language class? If I ask this question of myself, the answers is a million times YES. Sometimes I am “off-line” in class and a specific YouTube language video is exactly what I need for a lesson. Sometimes I need a YouTube video to create a digital exercise with the SC+ digital language learning platform, and then send the exercise to individual students.
Today I am going to share with you a tip for how to download a YouTube video for your language lesson.
There are several applications for downloading YouTube videos that have to be installed on your computer, but I want to share with you a downloading tip that does not require you to install anything. My favorite utilities are:
- Go to the YouTube video page and copy the URL of the video you wish to save. Next, go to the application website and paste the URL of the video. Get a link to download the file. For example, below is a picture of the URL to a video on YouTube in the URL text field of savefrom.net website.
- Click the Download button.
- If done properly, download links will appear with available video formats that can be saved below the URL text field. I suggest the FLV format. It could be used for creating SC+ exercises or could be used in other applications supporting flash. Click on the FLV link. The downloading will start immediately.
- IMPORTANT NOTE: I recommend to use Google Chrome or Mozilla Fire Fox web browser. The Jawa has to be installed in your web browser. If not, during steps above you will be noticed by web browser itself. The suggestion to install Jawa will appear.
Let me know if this post was useful for you. Happy downloading and avoid copyrights violation:)
